From Tamworth to Canada
Mar 28th, 2010, 7:39pm

Hi All
Enjoyed reading the threads on here and some are very helpful.
We are running a rare breed pasture fed farm in Ontario Canada. We have Galloway cattle and Romney sheep so far and want to add Tamworth pigs to our stock. Most important for us is good bloodlines which is not easy over here. Has anyone had any experience with exporting Tamworths to Canada. We are back to the UK in May to see family and would like to make some contacts with Tamworth breeders
Regards Andy

Many Thanks Shirley for your help and sound advice - ps we got our first Galloway calf and it was a heifer so she will be staying on the farm for many years. The birth was very straight forward for a first time mum. Another one due any time  Smiley  Smiley  Smiley

Have you made any headway on getting new Tamworth pigs into Canada? We also want to import so would be VERY interested in hearing what you have learned. We too are in Ontario, Canada. Currently in Newmarket but hoping to move to a farm in Peterborough, Ontario. Depending on the cost, we would like to import a large number with diverse genetics, perhaps 21. I'm guessing they would be piglets... Wink
